The Position
Title: Programmer / Junior Programmer, Information Technology - P/JP
Report to: Systems Analyst, IT
Location: Hong Kong
The job holder of this role shall be strong in a mix of IT hardware and software technical knowhow; s/he will involve him/herself in full-cycle IT systems activities, and writing secure and functional code, providing quality system, network and data maintenance both for applications and IT systems. S/he shall have a passion for technology and software building, be very much attentive to detail, and embrace with an analytical mind.
Major Operational Duties & Responsibilities
To install software on new or existing computer systems.
To provide end-user computer support service including product evaluation, trouble shooting and help-desk functions.
To set up and maintain computer networks and data communication environment.
To write programs and enhance/maintain existing programs.
To conduct program testing, system testing and user acceptance.
To prepare and maintain program documentation, and
To prepare job control procedures for trails runs and production runs.
Fluency in spoken English, Chinese and Putonghua and in written English and Chinese.
Education Qualifications
At least 2 years relevant post-qualification experience in computing field; and
Bachelor Degree：
Awarded in Hong Kong, UK, the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia,or
Accredited Associate Degree or Higher Diploma in Information Technology, or
Accredited Associate Degree or Higher Diploma other than Information Technology, or
Diploma from a Hong Kong or overseas duly registered tertiary education institute, or
Level 3 or above in five subjects, incl.English, in HKDSEE, or overseas equivalent, or
Grade E or above in two subjects in HKALE; and Level 3 or above in other three subjects, including English (Syl. B), in HKCEE, or overseas equivalent.
Position Qualifications
Knowledge or experience in the following fields:
Mobile/wireless technologies.
Knowledge management.
Collaborative tools, application development/ maintenance using programming languages and various support/development tools/environments such as:
JAVA, J2EE, WEBSPHERE, XML, C++, C#, COBOL, NATURAL, SQL, VISUAL BASIC, ORACLE TOOLS, WEB SERVICES, NET OR OSS
Operating system/platforms such as: Windows, UNIX, Linux, MVS, VMWare or Netware.
