Our client a top financial institution is currently seeking Senior Mainframe Specialist (COBOL) their technology team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform system implementation and meticulously document processes in adherence to SDLC.
Coordinate and liaise with project stakeholders to ensure projects align with scope, schedule, and cost, monitoring progress as planned.
Hands-on involvement in software design, testing, and vendor collaboration.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Lead the development and enhancement of Mainframe applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new features or functionalities
Work closely with business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 6 years of experience in IT projects within the Banking/Finance industry, experience in project management role is an advantage
Substantial hands-on experience in IBM Mainframe technologies such as IMS, MVS, COBOL, CICS, VSAM, and DB2.
Proficiency in VB scripts, shell scripts, and a strong knowledge of SDLC Methodology.
Candidates with experience/knowledge on Credit Card applications (Mainframe only) is an advantage
Experience or knowledge of Investment products applications and online applications on Mainframe is highly desired.
Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a self-driven, detail-oriented approach.
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese), with proficiency in Putonghua is a plus.
