Principal/ Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Backend, Infrastructure & AI)

Role Overview

We’re hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with a strong backend and infrastructure focus to help scale IM8’s growth and internal systems. This role will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining integrations between Shopify and multiple downstream platforms across inventory, finance, operations, analytics, and customer systems.

This is a high-impact role with significant ownership and architectural influence.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and build scalable backend services across commerce, operations, and analytics
• Own integrations between Shopify and third-party platforms (inventory, ERP, finance, logistics, CRM)
• Build reliable data flows using APIs, webhooks, queues, and background jobs
• Own and evolve cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Improve CI/CD, monitoring, security, and system reliability
• Apply AI tools and LLMs to accelerate development and internal automation
• Build AI-powered internal tools and dashboards
• Collaborate closely with growth, operations, and finance teams

Requirements
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend focus
• Deep experience with APIs, distributed systems, and integrations
• Experience building reliable data syncs between commerce and business systems
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
• Strong cloud infrastructure experience
• Practical experience applying AI in production workflows
• Strong ownership mindset and communication skills

Nice to Have
• Shopify or e-commerce platform experience
• Experience with ERP, inventory, or financial systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• High-growth DTC or subscription background
