Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and technically skilled Maintenance Technician to perform routine preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, troubleshooting, and system checks on our EV charging infrastructure and smart carpark systems. This field-based role ensures minimal downtime, full compliance with Hong Kong regulations (e.g., EMSD guidelines, Electricity Ordinance), and high customer satisfaction for both commercial and residential installations in a rapidly expanding EV market.
**TTPS, ASMTP and IANG applicants are also welcomed.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on EV chargers (AC/DC stations, smart chargers) and carpark systems (IoT sensors, parking guidance displays, ANPR cameras, access controllers, payment terminals).
Perform on-site inspections, diagnostics, fault-finding, and corrective repairs for electrical, mechanical, network, and software-related issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve common problems such as charging faults, connectivity issues (OCPP protocol), sensor failures, power supply problems, or integration glitches between EV charging and smart parking components.
Carry out electrical safety checks, earthing verification, cable inspections, and load testing in line with EMSD Technical Guidelines on Charging Facilities for Electric Vehicles and Code of Practice for the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations.
Respond to emergency service calls, site alarms, and customer-reported faults promptly to restore system functionality (including B2C home charging units and B2B multi-site deployments).
Update system software/firmware, configure devices, and perform functional testing during maintenance or after repairs.
Document all service activities, faults, repairs, and parts used in service reports and CRM/ticketing systems for accurate records and compliance.
Replace faulty components (e.g., cables, connectors, modules, sensors) and manage spare parts inventory during field work.
Collaborate with engineering, project, and customer service teams to escalate complex issues and support installations/commissioning when needed.
Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, PPE usage, and Hong Kong electrical safety standards.
Stay informed on product updates, emerging faults, and regulatory changes in EV charging and smart parking technologies.
Requirements
Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related technical field (Higher Diploma advantageous).
At least 0–3 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, or field service — preferably in EV charging stations, electrical installations, smart building/IoT systems, parking equipment, or similar technical equipment.
Basic knowledge of EV charging technologies (AC/DC modes, OCPP protocols, load management) and/or smart parking systems (sensors, guidance, access control).
Familiarity with Hong Kong electrical regulations: EMSD guidelines, Electricity Ordinance (Cap. 406), Wiring Regulations, and safety practices for fixed electrical installations.
Practical skills in electrical troubleshooting, use of multimeters/testers, basic networking, and hand/power tools.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in the field.
Good communication in Cantonese (Mandarin advantageous); able to interact professionally with clients and report clearly.
Physically fit for outdoor/field work, including lifting equipment and working at heights occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with EV charging infrastructure or smart parking systems in Hong Kong.
Valid Hong Kong driving license (Class 1/2) and willingness to travel across Hong Kong for site visits (commercial buildings, carparks, residential estates).
Relevant certifications (e.g., Registered Electrical Worker Grade A/B, or equivalent electrical safety training).
Knowledge of OCPP standards, IoT devices, or cloud-based monitoring platforms.
Prior exposure to B2B commercial sites or B2C residential EV home charging installations.
