The Team:
The Data Management Lab (DML) sits within the Data organization, and supports Data’s pursuit of data management excellence through aligning industry best practices with Bloomberg's established expertise in financial market data. DML empowers our data professionals to make their products “ready-to-use”, through promoting increased data discoverability, accessibility, appraisability, interoperability, and analysis-readiness.
The Data Product Management (DPM) APAC team is aligned with our Business Intelligence, Data Quality and Process Engineering teams within DML, and supports our the greater DML mission by empowering data teams to appraise their datasets from our clients perspective, providing operational and product level data for informed decision making, and ensuring ideal outcomes across human and machine workflows.
We partner closely with all Data product teams and our Engineering counterparts, to champion solutions that meet the needs of our client-facing products. Primary themes in this area include leading the continual refinement of the best practices and application of data management principles, as well as development of the tooling and solutions to measure our data products as fit-for-purpose.
The Role:
As a team member aligned with business intelligence within the DPM APAC team, you will lead efforts that affect product outcomes by providing comprehensive business intelligence solutions for data-driven decision making. An ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets, discovering trends and patterns, generating insights and mapping out recommendations for our stakeholders.
We’ll trust you to:
• Lead global projects that provides fit-for-purpose business performance analytics and data quality reporting
• Showcase subject-matter expertise in organizational business intelligence
• Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their business needs and to define data measurement requirements, ultimately delivering analytical insights and visualizations to measure both product (external, client-facing) and operational (internal, data management oriented) concerns
• Work across multiple stakeholders and abstract commonalities between products, to deliver standardized and scalable solutions while supporting bespoke development as business units require
• Perform data profiling and analysis, leveraging appropriate statistical methodologies to support decision making
• Champion organizational change around business intelligence, through developing standard practises and training counterparts on the solutions developed
• Continue learning about industry trends, standards, and innovation within the business intelligence data management domain
• Take ownership of supporting regional business needs, with a global perspective in approach
You’ll need to have:
• 2-5 years of professional experience within a Business, Finance or Technology industries and specialize in Mathematics & Statistics, Business Analysis/Reporting, or Data Management
• Experience in Business Intelligence such as extracting, loading and analyzing large volume of data or experience in Data Management/Governance
• Demonstrated experience in building Dashboard applications such as Qlik Sense, Tableau (experience in Data Profiling/Analysis using tools such as Python, SQL, Excel would be an added advantage)
• Experience in designing and developing metrics and reporting across organization
• Ability to lead multiple projects with global scope in parallel, with solid project management, communication, and leadership skills
• A creative and flexible approach to problem-solving, coupled with an experimental posture, to challenge past assumptions and provide new ways of thinking
• Up-to-date knowledge of financial markets, and how Bloomberg products deliver value to our clients
