Role Overview

The Business Development team focuses on identifying sales opportunities and cultivating relationships with prospects and clients in specific territories throughout the APAC region. We are looking for a motivated and energetic individual to take on a key role in implementing sales strategies that foster business growth and success.

Role Responsibilities
• Identify multi-asset sales opportunities in conjunction with other APAC professionals based across the region with a focus but not limited to Greater China.
• Develop and implement long-term Sales strategies with HK Trade Coverage Lead and Head of Sales, APAC, prospect/cross-sell in the given region
• Direct selling of Liquidnet products to buy and sell-side institutions, including cross-selling of new functionality and products to meet defined revenue and product targets
• Detailed analysis and understanding of individual Trader’s needs, workflows and behaviours to maximize liquidity capture and success
• Monitor order flow, from both previous and next trading sessions, proactively engage with colleagues and Members to facilitate trading
• Provider of intelligence and colour on daily market flows and themes
• Greater China Market Structure expertise
• Ownership of the entire Sales cycle to include but not limited to: creative lead sourcing: financial publications, industry events, client referrals; cold calling prospects, qualification, contract negotiation
• Work closely with Legal in reviewing new contracts
• Full and detailed account management to engage each individual Trader to maximize Liquidnet’s opportunity and the Members success
• Liaise with the Onboarding team to ensure that all relevant KYC has been completed against agreed timeframes
• Liaise with the Product Support team ensure that new Members are implemented against agreed timeframes
• Liaise between the Member firms’ and the company’s support teams to address and communicate issues as they arise
• Recommend ideas for new brokerage products and services for Greater China instruments on the basis of Member/prospect feedback and information from vendors
• Entertain clients for lunches, dinners, events etc., which may fall outside of standard business hours
• Open to travel, based on business requirements.

Essential

Experience / Competences
• Extensive knowledge of Global (especially APAC) Equity, Derivatives, Prime Brokerage markets
• Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Dynamic personality with an ability to effectively interact with industry peers
• Ability to create Sales initiatives, materials & proven Sales acumen
• Willing to embrace core business values demonstrated in day to day work ethic
• Strong networking skills to build relationships with potential clients and partners.
• Resilient, proactive and self-driven approach to work.

Desired
• Existing relationships and/or trading experience within the Institutional Equity trading space
• Understanding of the regulatory environment for electronic and alternative trading systems in the APAC
• Knowledge of other languages (Cantonese & Mandarin).
