Summary

You will be part of the overall Risk & Compliance team responsible for undertaking the day-to-day oversight responsibility of regulatory compliance matters, including AML/CFT, in jurisdictions that Payment Options operates in, primarily in Hong Kong. The role itself will be required to support on privacy, general compliance matters as well on new and innovative programmes and business models, resolving issues that arise in existing or new commercial relationships and handling compliance related enquires. It also includes but not limited tocreating, implementing, and maintaining internal policies, procedures and systems for compliance, as well as establishment of contractual framework with partners and clients. As the subject matter expert, you will also provide relevant technical expertise in interpreting compliance related requirements and issues and offer practical solutions and advisory support to address and mitigate related compliance risk.Reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance, you will work closely with the relevant stakeholders within the Group.

 

Main Responsibilities

• Handle licensing application related issues and information requests from government regulators or any other regulators for the Hong Kong Market (including schemes) as appropriate.

• Assisting the Head of Compliance in matters relating to the global licensing processes, including researching, and reviewing application requirements, preparing license application forms, applying for licenses, and communicating with various stakeholders internally and externally where required.

• Implementing, maintaining, updating, and monitoring adherence with the Risk & Compliance framework and regulatory/legislation requirements (including without limitation, internal policies and procedures, AML, Data Protection, Ethics, conflict of interest and training etc) for Payment Options.

• Advise on compliance issues (including but not limited to privacy, anti-bribery and corruption, technology) with respect to regulatory requirements in Hong Kong, and other jurisdictions of which Payment Options has presence in or will be going into as appropriate.

• Review any new business opportunities covering a wide range of payment acceptance channels and provide detailed recommendations, financial opportunities, and risk assessments in line with regulatory requirements and Payment Options overall group strategies where required.

• Conceptualise the framework and prepare for regulatory reporting to the relevant authorities as well as any internal compliance reporting requirements as appropriate.• Provide routine and ad hoc compliance reporting for periodic compliance risk assessments and analysis performance of the related control environments.

• Work closely with senior management and 1st line of defence in identifying areas for enhanced monitoring or training and tracking of compliance-identified findings.

• Act as the DPO (Data Protection Officer) for the Hong Kong office.• Provide training on a multitude of compliance topics and interprets highly technical information into business requirements and accountable for the delivery of information that has a direct effect on financial plans/goals where applicable.

• Keep abreast of the compliance and regulatory changes and advise the Hong Kong and other regions within the Payment Options Group as appropriate.

• Support the Head of Risk & Compliance on other various projects as appropriate.

• Assisting in ad-hoc reviews, testing or other regulatory-driven projects where applicable.

Preferred Experience and requirements

• 5 years or more relevant experience in regulatory compliance, licensing application related matters, and/or risk, business continuity management or audit matters.

• Familiar with Payment industry or card acquiring schemes preferred.

• Professional Compliance qualification/certification will be helpful.

• Compliance solution oriented with a sound commercial minded.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong prioritization and execution skills

• Effective interaction with different departments

• Quality focused with a passion for continuous improvement

• Self-motivated and a good team player

• Organised and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Meticulous and be able to multitask.

• Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Fluent in English and/or other regional languages (Japanese or Mandarin) or dialects (Cantonese) is a plus.
