Java Backend Developer

A leading organisation in the banking and fintech sector is expanding with a new strategic project (under NDA) focused on building new features and functionality for one of Hong Kong’s most widely used digital platforms. We are seeking a Java Backend Developer to join the team and contribute to the next evolution of its backend services.

You will work in a modern engineering environment with microservices , AWS deployment , and governed delivery frameworks typical of large financial institutions.

Cantonese language skills and Financial Services experience are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and enhance backend services for the app
• Build and maintain Spring Boot microservices
• Deploy applications on AWS and support production releases
• Apply TDD (Test-Driven Development) and maintain high code quality
• Collaborate closely with product, QA, and platform teams in a matrix environment
• Follow company’s engineering processes, governance, and security standards

Qualifications
• 3–7 years of hands‑on Java backend development
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture
• Experience deploying and launching applications on AWS
• Familiar with TDD and automated testing frameworks
• Cantonese language skills highly preferred
• Prior Financial Services experience is an advantage
• Experience working in large‑scale, governed environments is a plus
