Project Associate (Ref. 260625010)
[Appointment period: twelve months]
Duties
The appointee will take up the role as Data Governance and Management Specialist to assist the project leader in the project âDesign and implementation of data governance and data managementâ to support the implementation of the project initiated by the Digital Transformation Division of the Institute. He/She will be required to:
(a) support data governance initiatives by implementing and monitoring related processes and controls, and maintaining upâtoâdate governance documentation;
(b) support data asset management, including maintaining data inventories, business glossaries and metadata, performing data classification and tagging, and documenting data flows;
(c) perform data profiling and routine data quality checks according to predefined rules, and record issues and followâup actions;
(d) prepare reports, presentation materials and other governance deliverables for management, audit and compliance purposes;
(e) liaise with data owners, Information Technology Services Office and other stakeholders to support data governance, metadata management, data quality improvement and related followâup actions; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Institute for Higher Education Research and Development or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a good honours degree in Information Systems, Data/Business Analytics, Computer Science or other related disciplines;
(b) have three or more years of relevant work experience in data governance, data quality, data management, compliance support, risk/audit, process documentation or related areas;
(c) have a proven understanding of data governance and data quality concepts, including data standards, business glossary, metadata, data classification and data controls;
(d) be highly organised, detail-oriented, analytical and able to work independently as well as collaboratively with different teams;
(e) have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and SQL, and experience in using AI-assisted analytical tools; and
(f) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, fluency in Putonghua would be an advantage.
