Responsibilities
Review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including customer agreements, vendor contracts, and memoranda of understanding (MOUs), ensuring terms are legally sound and aligned with business objectives
Manage and safeguard the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights, while implementing strategies to protect proprietary assets; ensure strict compliance with Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and relevant international data protection standards
Coordinate and supervise external law firms engaged for litigation or complex legal matters, ensuring effective case management and cost efficiency while maintaining the company’s best interests
Provide legal training, compliance guidance, and practical advice to internal teams to strengthen organizational awareness of legal risks and regulatory obligations
Monitor evolving regulatory frameworks and developments in the technology industry, proactively assessing their impact on business operations and updating compliance strategies to maintain adherence and mitigate risks
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Law; qualification as a lawyer in Hong Kong or a recognized common law jurisdiction is strongly preferred
3+ years of professional legal experience within the technology industry or start-up sector, with a proven track record in contract negotiation, intellectual property management, and compliance advisory work
Solid knowledge of data privacy regulations, including PDPO and international frameworks such as GDPR
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the capacity to assess legal risks, propose practical solutions, and balance compliance requirements
Experience in managing external law firms and coordinating complex legal cases
Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to draft clear legal documents, deliver compliance training, and engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels
