Role Summary
The Global Technical Sales Manager – Essential Chemicals is responsible for driving global business growth of polymer-based and inorganic process chemicals, including Polyacrylamide (PAM), Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC) and related formulations.
This role bridges technical application expertise and commercial execution, delivering optimized chemical solutions to industrial customers in mining, pulp & paper, water treatment, and oil & gas.
The position requires strong process understanding, customer-facing technical credibility, and the ability to scale business across regions.
Key Responsibilities1. Global Business Development
Develop and execute global sales strategies for PAM, PAC, and specialty process chemicals across targeted industries.
Identify and develop key accounts, EPCs, distributors, and strategic partners in core regions.
Drive revenue growth, margin optimization, and long-term contract opportunities.
Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and pricing dynamics.
• Technical Sales & Application Support
Provide technical solution design based on customer processes (solid-liquid separation, clarification, flotation, sludge dewatering, retention & drainage, EOR, produced water treatment, etc.).
Lead product trials, dosage optimization, and performance evaluation at customer sites.
Translate process challenges into value-based chemical solutions.
Collaborate with R&D and production teams on customized formulations.
• Industry-Specific Responsibilities
Mining
Tailings thickening, clarification, filtration, and water recycling.
Selection and optimization of anionic / cationic PAM for different ore types.
Pulp & Paper
Retention & drainage systems, sludge dewatering, wastewater treatment.
Support mill productivity, fiber recovery, and water reduction targets.
Water Treatment
Municipal and industrial water & wastewater treatment.
Coagulant–flocculant system design using PAC and PAM.
Oil & Gas
Produced water treatment, drilling fluids, EOR applications, and separation processes.
• Customer Relationship Management
Act as trusted technical advisor to customers and partners.
Deliver technical presentations, training, and workshops.
Support contract negotiations with strong technical justification.
• Internal Coordination
Work closely with supply chain, logistics, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure reliable global delivery.
Provide market feedback to guide product development and portfolio expansion.
Support global marketing with application notes, case studies, and technical content.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
Bachelor's degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline.
Master's degree is a plus.
Experience
8+ years of technical sales or application engineering experience in process chemicals.
Proven experience with PAM / PAC or related water-soluble polymers.
Strong exposure to at least two of the following sectors: mining, pulp & paper, water treatment, oil & gas.
Demonstrated success in international or regional sales roles.
