Pivot Biomedical Engineering Ltd. (Pivot BME) is a Hong Kong innovation-driven startup focused on the intersection of AI, biomedical engineering, and medical devices. We are developing a consumer-grade “3A Personal Blood Pressure Doctor”:
• Accurate
• Accessible
• Ambulatory
Our mission is to redefine home blood pressure monitoring through the integration of acoustic data, pressure data, and AI systems, delivering a new generation of highly accurate, easy-to-use, and portable blood pressure solutions.
Backed by a multidisciplinary team with expertise in computer science, biomedical engineering, AI, and medical instrumentation, Pivot BME has received strong support from the Hong Kong innovation ecosystem, including awards and funding from HKSTP, CityU Tech 300, and related programs.
We are now inviting outstanding AI PhD graduates to join our core R&D team.

• Monthly Salary: HKD 45,000
• Contract Duration: 3 years
• RTH Support: Eligible candidates may apply for the Hong Kong Research Talent Hub (RTH) with company support
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who:
• Hold, or are about to obtain, a PhD degree from a Hong Kong university
• Specialized in Artificial Intelligence or related areas
• Are interested in applying cutting-edge AI technologies to medical devices and digital health
• Are eligible to apply for the Hong Kong RTH scheme
Key Responsibilities
You will work on the research, development, and optimization of AI technologies for our next-generation medical products, including but not limited to:
• Develop and optimize AI algorithms for healthcare and biomedical applications
• Work on modeling and analysis of acoustic signals, pressure signals, and physiological data
• Contribute to the development of high-accuracy blood pressure measurement algorithms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, product, clinical, and research
• Support product iteration, validation, and deployment of AI solutions in real-world medical scenarios
• Contribute to technical documentation, patents, research outputs, and project applications
Requirements
• PhD degree obtained from a Hong Kong university, or expected graduation soon
• Research background in one or more of the following areas:
• Artificial Intelligence
• Machine Learning
• Deep Learning
• Computer Science
• Data Science
• Biomedical Engineering
• Signal Processing
• Computational Healthcare / Digital Health
• Strong foundation in AI algorithms and research methodology
• Proficient in Python
• Familiar with major AI frameworks such as PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
• Good academic reading, technical communication, and problem-solving skills
• Strong interest in translating research into real-world healthcare products
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience in any of the following will be highly preferred:
• Physiological signal processing
• Time-series modeling
• Acoustic data analysis
• Medical AI or healthcare AI applications
• Wearable or smart medical device development
• Publications, patents, or technology transfer experience
