We’re hiring a hands-on Backend Lead Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead backend architecture and development for a gaming, fintech, and prediction platform.

Responsibilities (Work location: Lai Chi Kok)Lead the design and development of backend systems
Own architecture decisions across APIs, services, and data models
Drive implementation of wallet, transaction, settlement, reporting, and event-processing features
Mentor backend developers and raise engineering standards
Lead code reviews and technical discussions
Work with frontend, product, DevOps, QA, and business teams
Improve system performance, reliability, observability, and scalability
Troubleshoot production issues and drive long-term improvements
Stay hands-on with critical features and architecture work
Requirements
10+ years of backend development experience
Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot
Proven experience in a senior or lead technical role
Strong system design and backend architecture experience
Strong SQL, database design, and performance optimization skills
Experience with JPA / Hibernate
Strong understanding of backend security and transaction-related workflows
Strong communication and team leadership skills
Experience in gaming, fintech, prediction markets, trading, or high-throughput transactional platforms is highly preferred
