The Position
Summary
The
Senior Cloud Engineer
will be part of the cloud platform team and is responsible for setup and operation of Amplify Health's Cloud platform. The individual delivers bespoke cloud solutions to product engineering and operations team. Works closely with Amplify Health Enterprise Architecture, Technical Authority, Automation, Security operation teams in ensuring that Amplify solutions are based on approved technologies, comply with security requirements and are supportable.
The Senior Cloud Engineer will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions. This role requires a proactive approach to ensuring the reliability and resilience of cloud services across the organisation.
Responsibilities
1) Cloud Architecture & Operations
• Design and implement robust cloud architectures for hybrid and public cloud environments (primarily Azure).
• Ensure repeatability, stability, resilience, and scalability of all cloud services.
• Optimise cloud services for cost, performance, and availability throughout the product lifecycle.
• Manage identity and access controls, network configurations, and storage within the cloud platform.
2) Automation, DevSecOps & Security
• Implement and configure DevSecOps pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery.
• Drive automation initiatives, including Infrastructure as Code and test automation for quality assurance.
• Collaborate with Technology Risk and InfoSec teams to maintain robust cloud security.
• Develop processes and procedures to achieve ISO and other relevant certifications.
3) Leadership & Continuous Improvement
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and best practices across the Cloud Platform team.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers to build technical expertise and maintain quality standards.
• Continuously assess emerging cloud technologies and integrate innovative solutions.
• Contribute to technology selection, define standard design patterns/templates, and lead proof-of-concept initiatives.
4) Project & Vendor Management
• Lead and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
• Maintain strong ownership and accountability for all deliverables, even under pressure.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, carriers, and vendors to design and implement connectivity strategies and support complex enterprise infrastructure environment.
Candidate Profile
Experience and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in IT / Computer Science or equivalent.
• Over 8 years experience in working within IT infrastructure functions.
• An understanding in architecture design and implementation for hybrid and public cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS), including assessment, migration, and large-scale adoption—primarily on Azure.
• Proficiency in configuration of network technologies (e.g., VPN, SDN, DNS, TCP/IP).
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and DevSecOps toolchains.
• Familiarity with Office 365, Windows & Linux platforms, middleware, and databases.
• Deep knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong knowledge of developer and end-user platform engineering.
• Experience collaborating with internal and external partners to design connectivity strategies.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills in English; collaborative and independent work style.
• High sense of ownership, self-driven, and able to work under pressure.
