We are seeking a highly experienced Azure Cloud Infrastructure Solution Architect to design, implement, and operate enterprise-grade cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure, supporting mission-critical workloads including SAP HANA and RISE with SAP environments.
This role will lead Azure Landing Zone design, SAP HANA hosting, integration with RISE with SAP, VDI platforms, cloud governance, cost optimization, and day-to-day cloud operations.
You will act as the technical bridge between Azure, SAP, managed service providers, and internal teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud environments.
This is a hands-on architecture and operational leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Landing Zones
Design and implement Azure enterprise landing zones aligned to Microsoft CAF
Define subscription strategy, governance, RBAC, policies, and guardrails
Architect secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure platforms
Establish standards, patterns, and reusable blueprints
SAP HANA & RISE with SAP
Architect SAP HANA deployments on Azure (IaaS-based and RISE with SAP scenarios)
Design integration between enterprise Azure environments and RISE-managed SAP landscapes
Manage connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN, private endpoints) between SAP and corporate systems
Define high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies
Collaborate with SAP Basis, SAP hosting partners, and SAP-managed services teams
Understand and manage shared responsibility model under RISE with SAP
Support migrations from on-prem SAP to Azure/RISE
Optimize performance, sizing, and cost for SAP workloads
Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
Design and manage:
Azure VMs and storage solutions (Premium SSD, Azure NetApp Files, etc.)
Hybrid connectivity and identity integration
Backup & DR (Azure Backup, ASR)
Infrastructure automation (Terraform/ARM/Bicep)
Lead infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives
VDI / End-User Compute
Architect and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)/VDI platforms
Optimize image management, scaling, and cost
Ensure secure remote workforce access
Cloud Operations & Service Management
Establish cloud operating model and support framework
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)
Manage patching, backup, lifecycle, and incident management
Oversee MSPs, SAP vendors, and cloud service providers
Ensure SLA adherence and operational excellence
Cost Optimization (FinOps)
Implement Azure cost governance and budgeting controls
Lead tagging, chargeback/showback models
Optimize right-sizing, reserved instances, and savings plans
Provide ongoing cost reporting and improvement recommendations
Security & Compliance
Implement zero-trust and secure-by-design principles
Enforce Azure Policies, Defender, and security baselines
Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements
Support audits and risk assessments
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related discipline
8–12+ years infrastructure/cloud experience
5+ years Azure architecture experience
Hands-on experience hosting SAP HANA on Azure
Experience with RISE with SAP or SAP cloud hosting models
Experience designing enterprise landing zones
Proven track record running production cloud operations
