Main Responsibilities
Network Operations & Support
• Maintain and support the bank’s LAN/WAN infrastructure across Hong Kong offices and branches, as well as branches in Mainland China.
• Monitor network performance and availability, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal service levels.
• Provide hands-on support for routing, switching, and wireless network issues.
Installation & Configuration
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Assist in network setup for new branches or office relocations, including cross-border coordination.
Cross-Border Connectivity
• Manage and monitor connectivity between Hong Kong and Mainland China branches, ensuring secure and stable communication.
• Coordinate with telecom providers and vendors for cross-border network services.
System Monitoring and Capacity Planning
• Configure and support SNMP messaging for system monitoring integration.
• Monitor system performance and resource usage to support proactive planning.
Patch and Upgrade
• Perform regular patching to network devices to address end-of-support and security vulnerabilities.
• Upgrade legacy End-of-Support (EOS) network devices to ensure continued vendor support and system reliability.
Security & Compliance
• Maintain documentation for audits and compliance reviews
• Ensure all voice and IoT systems comply with internal security policies and regulatory standards.
• Generate regular reports on network health, usage, and performance metrics.
• Support and ensure network security policies are enforced
Incident & Problem Management
• Act as first-line response for voice and IoT-related incident resolution efforts, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
Project & Vendor Coordination
• Coordinate in infrastructure projects involving network deployments or upgrades.
• Liaise with vendors for procurement, installation, support of relevant hardware and software.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in network administration.
• Strong understanding of Cisco network devices , including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
• Good knowledge of Layer 3 routing protocols such as:
• EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol)
• OSPF (Open Shortest Path First)
• BGP (Border Gateway Protocol)
• Experience in setting up high availability and redundancy using:
• HSRP (Hot Standby Router Protocol)
• Experience in configuring Layer 2 technologies including VLANs, various STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), EtherChannel, trunking, and port security.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Prior experience working in the banking industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of Huawei / H3C switches is an advantage.
