Overview:
Groundswell is a dynamic 10,000 sq ft indoor entertainment venue in Hong Kong that uniquely combines a state-of-the-art Flowrider surf simulator with a vibrant 190-seat Southeast Asian restaurant. We offer surf lessons, memberships, and vouchers, catering to enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. Our restaurant features diverse menus—including lunch sets, à la carte options, and tea-time selections—attracting local office workers, residents, families, and pet owners. We are looking for a creative and energetic Content Creator / Social Media Manager to take charge of our digital presence. In this pivotal role, you'll showcase the unique vibe of Groundswell—highlighting our surf sessions, events, and health-focused offerings—while growing our online community and driving engagement. You'll have the creative freedom to shape how we connect with our audience, making a significant impact on our brand's growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
• Capture the Groundswell Experience: Create visually appealing photos, videos, and graphics that showcase surf sessions, community events, and the overall atmosphere of Groundswell.
• Storytelling: Write engaging captions, blog posts, and feature stories that capture the energy and excitement of Groundswell’s surf culture.
• Collaborations: Partner with local surfers, influencers, and community members to generate authentic user-generated content (UGC) that promotes Groundswell’s mission and events.
Social Media Management:
• Day-to-Day Management: Oversee all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) by scheduling regular posts, engaging with the audience, and responding to comments and messages.
• Content Calendar: Plan and manage a content calendar that reflects seasonal events, surf sessions, and community-building activities.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor social media metrics to assess the performance of posts and campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to increase engagement and reach.
Event Promotion:
• Event Marketing: Work closely with the marketing team to promote Groundswell’s surf events, community activities, and partnerships through engaging social media content and blog posts.
• Live Event Coverage: Capture live content at surf sessions, workshops, and community events to share in real-time via social media platforms, boosting engagement and showcasing the Groundswell experience.
Marketing Support:
• Collaborative Campaigns: Support the Marketing Manager in developing creative campaigns to drive participation in surf sessions, events, and seasonal promotions.
• Trend Awareness: Stay informed about social media trends and surf culture, bringing fresh ideas and strategies to the table to keep Groundswell relevant and engaging.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in content creation, social media management, or digital marketing.
• Language: Fluency in English and Cantonese
• Creative Skills: Proficiency in photography, videography, and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
• Social Media Expertise: Deep knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Redbook) and experience using scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
• Writing Ability: Strong skills in writing engaging and on-brand social media captions and blog posts.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives and engage online communities.
• Surf Culture Enthusiasm: Passion for surf culture and community building.
• Proactive and Independent: Ability to work independently and bring new creative ideas to life.
