APAC Merchandising Manager - Fashion
JOB PURPOSE
A key leadership role driving regional merchandising strategy across APAC. The role curates and optimises assortments that balance global brand identity with local market needs, working closely with global design, product teams, and regional buyers. Leads and develops the local merchandising team and serves as the regional bridge between global stakeholders and Asian markets.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Global offer, studio, product development, finance, sales, marketing, VM, and regional merchandising/buying teams (China, HK, Japan)
External: Distributors (Taiwan, Korea), collaboration partners, e-com content vendors
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Merchandising
Define APAC assortment strategy aligned with global direction and regional insights
Localise global roadmaps for Asia, identifying growth opportunities by market
Partner with buyers to analyse trends and consumer behaviour
Product Planning & Performance
Collaborate with global teams to build a compelling core offer for APAC
Lead seasonal briefs and line plans, consolidating market feedback
Own key product KPIs: margin, pricing, sell-through, forecast
Develop regional pricing architecture and review seasonal buy allocations
Oversee licensed and supplementary ranges to ensure brand fit and commercial relevance
Cross-Functional Leadership
Coordinate seasonal milestones from concept to regional sales seminars
Present assortment strategies and go-to-market plans to internal and regional stakeholders
Marketing & E-com Content
Work with marketing teams to tailor product stories and campaigns for APAC
Own e-com shooting plan for Asia-driven products, coordinating with global teams and external vendors
Team Leadership
Manage and coach one direct report
Lead and inspire Asia-based merchandising and buying teams across markets
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Hard Skills:
Fluent in English and Mandarin
Advanced Excel; PLM, TM1, Power BI
Strong retail and product KPI knowledge
10+ years experience, including people management
International brand experience preferred
Regular travel within Asia and occasional travel to Europe
Soft Skills:
Strong communicator, consumer-centric, analytical
Organised, adaptable, culturally aware, collaborative
Product-driven with commercial mindset
