Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented System Engineer to design, integrate, implement, and support our EV charging and smart carpark systems. You will ensure seamless system performance, compliance with Hong Kong regulations (e.g., EMSD guidelines, Electricity Ordinance, OCPP standards), and optimal integration across hardware, software, and electrical infrastructure. This hands-on role involves technical problem-solving from project design through commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades in a fast-growing green tech environment.
**TTPS, ASMTP and IANG applicants are also welcomed.
Key Responsibilities
Design and engineer EV charging systems (AC/DC chargers, load management, smart charging) and integrated carpark solutions (IoT sensors, parking guidance, ALPR, access control, payment systems).
Perform site assessments, electrical load calculations, system architecture design, and integration planning for both B2B (commercial/multi-zone) and B2C (residential/home) installations.
Ensure compliance with Hong Kong standards: EMSD Technical Guidelines on Charging Facilities for Electric Vehicles, Code of Practice for the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations, OCPP protocols, and relevant building/electrical codes.
Integrate systems with backend platforms, cloud services, energy management (e.g., load balancing, V2G concepts), and smart parking/IoT components for real-time monitoring and optimization.
Oversee installation, commissioning, testing, and handover of systems, including hardware setup, software configuration, and interoperability testing.
Troubleshoot technical issues, perform diagnostics, maintenance, and upgrades on deployed chargers, parking sensors, controllers, and networks.
Collaborate with project managers, sales, installation teams, and external partners (e.g., electricians, developers, utilities) to deliver projects on time and within specifications.
Prepare technical documentation: schematics, wiring diagrams, load/voltage drop calculations, compliance reports, and user/operation manuals.
Monitor system performance post-deployment using monitoring tools; analyze data for improvements in energy efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
Stay updated on emerging technologies (e.g., smart charging advancements, IoT in parking, EV incentives like EHSS subsidies) and contribute to product/solution enhancements.
Support tender responses, pilot projects, and proof-of-concepts with technical expertise.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
At least 3–6 years of experience in system engineering, preferably involving EV charging infrastructure, smart building/parking systems, renewable energy, IoT integration, or electrical/power systems.
Strong knowledge of EV charging technologies (AC/DC modes, OCPP protocols, load management) and/or smart parking systems (sensors, guidance, access control, IoT).
Familiarity with Hong Kong regulations: EMSD guidelines, Electricity Ordinance (Cap. 406), Wiring Regulations, and building codes.
Hands-on experience with electrical design, site surveys, commissioning, and troubleshooting of fixed electrical installations.
Proficiency in technical tools: AutoCAD/EPLAN for schematics, simulation software, network configuration, and monitoring platforms.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
Excellent communication in English and Cantonese (Mandarin advantageous); able to explain technical concepts to non-engineers.
Willing to travel within Hong Kong for site visits, installations, and client meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with integrated EV + smart parking solutions (e.g., energy optimization, solar integration).
Knowledge of cloud/IoT platforms, communication protocols and energy management systems.
Prior work on Hong Kong EV projects, subsidies (EHSS), or public/commercial infrastructure.
Relevant certifications (e.g., registered electrical worker, OCPP knowledge).
