Overview
Join a leading international bank’s Operations Department as Vice President in Corporate Payment Services, taking ownership of high‑value payment and remittance operations while driving control, efficiency and automation. This role is ideal for an experienced people manager who enjoys leading teams, strengthening risk controls and enhancing processes in a fast‑paced, regulatory‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Approve and oversee end‑to‑end processing of corporate payments and remittances, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and adherence to internal policies and control standards.
• Monitor daily transaction flows, manage currency and system cut‑off times, oversee pooling and funding operations, and handle volume fluctuations to support smooth settlement.
• Manage operational and financial crime risks by spotting and investigating suspicious transactions, escalating potential payment fraud or AML/CFT concerns to the AMLO and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure the accuracy and punctual submission of regulatory, control and financial reports related to payment operations, maintaining strong documentation and audit trails.
• Lead system and process enhancement initiatives to improve capacity, straight‑through processing (STP) ratios and operational resilience, including exploring workflow/automation tools such as Alteryx.
• Develop, review and maintain operating procedures, provide technical guidance and customer support to internal and external stakeholders, and coach staff to build a high‑performing, collaborative operations team.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or tertiary education, with extensive hands‑on experience in remittance or payment operations and at least 5 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of corporate payment and remittance processes, including AML/CFT and sanctions‑related checks and relevant regulatory expectations.
• Proven ability to manage operational risk, exercise sound judgement on complex transactions and exceptions, and maintain robust control and governance standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a customer‑focused, service‑oriented mindset, able to partner effectively with front office, risk, compliance, technology and external counterparties.
• Detail‑oriented, mature and improvement‑driven, with a track record of driving process optimisation, automation and continuous improvement in payment operations.
• Proficient with payment systems, remittance platforms and MS Office; experience with Alteryx or similar automation tools is an advantage, alongside excellent English communication skills and Mandarin as a plus.
Step into a leadership role where your expertise in payments, controls and process improvement directly shapes a major bank’s corporate transaction platform. If you’re ready to lead a high‑impact operations team and drive meaningful change, please send your CV to Raymond Cheung for a confidential discussion about this opportunity.
