Description
A Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is instrumental in designing and implementing the architecture, engineering processes and best practices for our trading, research and development infrastructure. The role is responsible for all aspects of infrastructure, working closely with application developers to select appropriate compute, network, storage and observability solutions hosted in public cloud and on-premise.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, fully hands-on software developer with in-depth infrastructure experience, who can guide our development and research teams to design, build, deploy and monitor our continuously evolving trading and research stack. A lateral thinker and pragmatic trouble shooter who is excited to work in a small team with a common goal.
Responsibilities
• Maintain and develop our core infrastructure to support a highly available and dynamic trading environment
• Deliver CI/CD tooling for a rapid development and deployment life-cycle
• Deliver observability across the whole infrastructure and software stack
• Ensure networks and software are ready for peak performance at all times
• Develop data infrastructure to allow the research team to implement innovative and new trading strategies
• Improve scalability, observability, security and performance of infrastructure
Skills And Experience
Our technology stack includes:
Terraform | Ansible | Java | Python | Javascript/Typescript | Netty | Aeron | SBE | Chronicle | Influxdb | Prometheus | Grafana | Jenkins | Ubuntu/CentOS | some React UIs | Infrastructure as Code
Must Have Skills And Experience
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Financial Services, ideally Proprietary Trading
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and automating infrastructure as code on AWS (ideally using Terraform, Ansible, AMI, Docker)
• Deep understanding of software development life-cycle, including DevOps best practices, CI/CD pipelines, deploying containerised workloads and non-containerized applications on AWS and bare-metal
• Experience in Linux with focus on running high-performance / low-latency workloads
• Good understanding of network protocols (TCP/UDP/FIX/DNS/WebSocket/multicast)
Desirable Skills And Experience
• Experience using the full HashiCorp tools suite
• Experience in developing event-driven systems
• Experience in trading system design
