Senior Database Administrator (Insurance sector)

Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the IT Database system, ensuring availability, capacity, and 24/7 support.
- Install, patch, and upgrade database servers.
- Perform maintenance tasks on the database system, such as troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and tuning.
- Design and implement database systems to support business applications.
- Review and provide advice on the current dataflow and disaster recovery architecture of the database.
- Ensure that the infrastructure of the Database System meets compliance and security requirements.
- Evaluate new products or services and recommend changes to existing ones to improve service operations.
- Mentor and provide training to junior team members.

Requirements:
- Hold a degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a related field, with over 3 years of experience in database administration in a sizable organization.
- Experience in managing databases on cloud and Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms.
- Hands-on experience in tasks such as database installation, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, database monitoring, data replication, and database encryption.
- Familiarity with MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases is a plus.
- Proficiency in database design and problem-solving, as well as incident management.
- Possess professional qualifications such as Azure, MCSE (Database Platform), and MongoDB certificates (preferred).
- Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and willing to take on challenges.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese)
