IT - Database Administrator

Job Description

Perform cloud database design and architecture work, perform installation, upgrade, configuration, administration, maintenance and support, for PostgreSQL, MySQL and other databases, cater for resilience

Perform database operation including backup and restoration, troubleshooting and performance tuning, monitor utilization and carry out capacity planning

Perform database security set up, do vulnerability assessment and test

Create shell scripts for automation of database utility tasks, set up monitoring tools

Collaborate with application team, server team and suppliers

Prepare documentation

Provide 24 x 7 production support

Keep abreast of the latest data management trends and technologies

Job Requirement

Degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science or industry related disciplines

Minimum 5 years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration, preferably in cloud environment

Solid experience in large scale database design, installation, configuration, backup & recovery, analysis of performance bottleneck and in carrying out tuning and monitoring

Solid experience in Linux and Windows platforms

Proficient in PostgreSQL database tools

Knowledge in MSSQL, MySQL is a plus

Holder of PostgreSQL Certified Professional is an advantage

Good command of written and spoken English
