APAC AI Engineer / Scientist

Overview

A globally recognised manufacturing leader is seeking an APAC Artificial Intelligence Engineer and Scientist to join their expanding AI team in Central Hong Kong. With strong regional demand from senior business stakeholders to scale AI initiatives, they are now strengthening their AI team to support enterprise-wide deployment.
Responsibilities
• Research and evaluate AI technologies to identify opportunities that boost productivity and operational efficiency.
• Lead development of visual inspection and other AI algorithms to ensure high product quality and minimise defects.
• Build and implement AI proof-of-concepts (POCs) and manage end-to-end deployment of approved solutions.
• Define project requirements, plan strategies, and oversee execution of AI initiatives aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI and data solutions that improve customer experience and support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field.
• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning or data science roles within complex organisations.
• Proficiency in machine learning algorithms and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch; experience with computer vision techniques is highly desirable.
• Prior exposure to manufacturing or supply chain industries is advantageous for understanding sector-specific challenges.
• Excellent communication skills in Cantonese or Mandarin are essential for collaborating effectively across diverse teams.
