Data Engineering Lead – Machine Learning/ Gen Ai

Overview
We are on the lookout for a Data Engineering lead with expertise in Machine Learning / GenAI to work with our financial services clients. This role involves both hands-on technical work and leadership responsibilities, including managing an agile team and collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement scalable backend systems and machine learning/ Gen AI -driven applications.
Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions (preferably on GCP or Alibaba Cloud; experience with AWS or Azure is also valuable).
Work closely with internal teams to transform business needs into effective technical designs.
Guide and mentor an agile team by providing technical direction, conducting code reviews, and ensuring high-quality delivery.
Qualifications
6–8 years of professional experience in Machine Learning/ Gen AI backend development
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and deploying applications in cloud environments.
Proven ability to lead or mentor agile teams effectively.
Fluency in Cantonese and English, both written and spoken, in a professional setting.
Prior experience working in the banking sector with complex stakeholder interactions will be a plus
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage directly with business users and present ideas clearly.
