We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead to join our client and drive the development of innovative IT solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java-based application development, enterprise system integration, and project delivery within the insurance domain. This role requires hands‑on technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions that meet business objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of Java‑based applications and solutions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Oversee the end‑to‑end software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality solutions.
Develop scalable and secure microservices using modern frameworks and tools.
Integrate applications with other enterprise systems through APIs or middleware solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security protocols throughout the development process.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions to optimised system performance.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends relevant to Java development and the insurance industry.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java‑based application development.
Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
Familiarity with front‑end technologies (e.g., Angular, React, or similar frameworks) is a plus.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerisation tools like Docker/Kubernetes.
Proven experience leading IT development projects in the
insurance industry
or similar domains.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders across teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
